With more than 15 years of Human Resources experience, LL has seen a bit of everything. His experience brings a truly unique leadership and coaching perspective. Having been the Head of HR for a few high profile companies, and consultant to a few smaller organizations, LL has worked with and reported directly to; Founders, CEO, CFO, COO, CSO, giving him the insight on what executive leadership is thinking, and looking for when it comes to new hires, performance management, and terminations across all levels.
LL has a bachelor’s in History from NCSU, an MBA from UNCC, holds an SPHR, and Career Coaching Certification. He began his professional journey as a licensed client service associate at Vanguard, and was quickly promoted to the new hire onboarding and training team. After completing his MBA, he relocated to Ohio in order to be closer to family, where he continued to hone and gain experience with various progressively responsible roles within HR and Recruiting in the retail, financial services, and HR outsourcing and consulting industries. He joined Rivian in early 2016 to help build the Talent Acquisition function, and quickly proved to be an invaluable member of the team. His hard work and dedication paid off, as he was ultimately promoted to the head of all HR, and played a critical role in the scaling of an unknown 50 employee startup, to an extremely well funded, well known brand with ~1100 employees at the time of his departure. Since then, he has worked and consulted with several smaller organizations, and also took on the role of Head of US HR for ARRIVAL, a UK based electric vehicle startup.
